HYBRID ROLE: OFFICE MANAGER AND JUNIOR TECHNICIAN
Ottawa Area | $21/hour | 20–40 hours/week
Compu-Home, a trusted family-run technology service company with over 25 years in the Ottawa–Gatineau area, is looking for one motivated, personable, and technically capable individual to join our team.
This is a hybrid position combining office management responsibilities with hands-on technical work which will expand as your skills and experience grow.
🔹 WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Office Manager (Primary Role):
- Be the first, friendly, point of contact for clients via phone and email
- Schedule appointments and coordinate team workflows
- Track workshop jobs, hardware, and progress
- Maintain accurate records, invoicing support, and weekly schedules
- Keep the office and workshop organized and professional
Technician (As Time Allows):
- Diagnose client issues by phone, email, and remote assistance
- Repair and upgrade computer hardware in the workshop
- Perform remote support sessions
- Pick up and deliver client equipment when needed
🔹 What We’re Looking For (Essentials)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (required)
- Excellent spoken and written English with a friendly, confident phone manner
- Ability to explain technology clearly to clients of all skill levels
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of:
- Windows-based systems (Mac knowledge is an asset)
- Hardware, peripherals, networking, security, and troubleshooting
- Professional, trustworthy, patient, and detail-oriented
- Willingness to learn, grow, and accept guidance
French language skills and experience with smartphones, tablets, or smart TVs are assets.
🔹 Hours, Pay & Work Environment
- Hourly rate: $21.00
- Hours: Start at 20/week, increasing up to 40 as demand grows
- Hybrid role based in our workshop, with some client visits
- Equipment and software provided
- Supportive, collaborative team environment
